The Christmas season is my favorite time of the year. Our Christmas season is full of family, friends, holiday baking, Christmas music, decorating, holiday crafts, Hallmark movies, love and laughter, all in preparation to celebrate the birth of Jesus, our Lord and Savior!
Here is a little peek at what our home looks like during this time of year!
We have a traditional REAL Christmas tree. I know they are a pain to clean up but I love going to pick out a tree every year hoping for the best looking tree. My mom told me that every tree is perfect once it's decorated because it's filled with love. I asked Joey what will happen when Ava gets older and wants colored lights on the tree and he said well she will get white lights on the tree. I have a feeling that could possibly change.
Our tree is filled with a ton of sentimental ornaments. Some were made by family members or ourselves, some we bought during our travels, and some were given to us from our friends and family. I love putting them on the tree and reflecting back on some of our best memories. Here are a few of my favorites this year.
To hang our stocking this year I used a ladder I found at the Vintage Warehouse in Lakeland.
I am a HUGE fan of decorative pillows. I am actually quite obsessed. I switch my pillows out for the different holidays and seasons. I usually find pillows covers at IKEA and just cover the pillows I already have. I already had the two grey pillows and then I found two new ones at T.J. Max.
This year I decided to set up the manger scene on an old antique brass table that my mom gave me.
I kind of wanted a tree with colorful lights this year so I hot glued some colorful pom poms to a few twigs and placed it next to my coffee pot so I can see it every morning.
I kept the dinning room very simple this year. I used some old bells that I found last Christmas, a few small old ornaments, and two little Christmas trees that I found at Walmart this year.
I wanted to start a tradition of decorating Ava's room in some way for Christmas. So this year I used these felt lights that I found in the Target Dollar Spot this year.
For our front door I used a large wreath and a medium sized wreath that I had from last year. I put the two together in order to get a more full wreath. Then my husband used some fishing line to tie our monogram to the wreath, we added a red bow, and there you have it!
I truly enjoyed decorating this year for Christmas. My favorite part has been hanging ornaments on the tree. I just love how it takes you down memory lane. I can't wait for Ava to get older so she can help us decorate and ask us about the different ornaments and the memories behind them.
I hope you have enjoyed the tour and have a fun time decorating your home for the holiday season!
