There is a thrift store near our home that sells gently used clothing and shoes for children. It's called Once Upon A Child. I know there are several of them around. I tend to have a love/hate relationship with this store.
Often times, I can find really good deals in there for Ava and sometimes I don't have much luck at all. I've learned that I HAVE to go by myself so I have plenty of time and hands to search for good finds. Having Ava with me doesn't work at all. I also have to have patience and time to shop. It sounds like a lot of hassle but the deals are completely worth it. I told my husband that I have to get better at making an effort to go there first when looking for some new clothes or shoes for Ava.
When purchasing shoes I only buy shoes that are gently used and that can be washed in the washer machine. The first thing I do with everything I buy is throw it in the washing machine. If it can't go in there then I don't buy it.
So here's what I found my last visit.
