For the weekend, two of my girl friends and I stayed at The Postcard Inn in St. Petersburg, FL. for a short beach getaway.
The Postcard Inn is such a neat place to visit and it’s right on the beach with easy beach access. I am in love with their lobby.
On Fridays they serve a few appetizers in the lobby. This week they served chicken skewers with a peanut sauce and mini pineapple upside down cakes.
After everyone arrived, we checked into our room and then grabbed a drink at their tiki bar out back and enjoyed our view of the beach.
For dinner we ate at Snapper’s. If you’re ever in St. Petersburg and need a place to eat for dinner definitely try Snapper’s. Their food was delicious! We had an appetizer that had lightly grilled watermelon, with panko breaded goat cheese and a balsamic glaze. Oh my! It was amazing. I had never tried goat cheese before, and I didn’t even think I would like it but I LOVED it.
I ordered their Coconut-Cashew Crusted Mahi-Mahi, baked with Coco-Cashew crust, over a mango chutney. Served with a grilled banana and potato puff pastry. The potato puff pastry was so yummy! The whole dish was delicious! Seriously one of the best seafood dishes I’ve had in a long time.
My friend ordered their Wasabi Crusted Tuna, Panko crusted, marinated in Wasabi and Soy; then pan seared to perfection. Served rare to medium rare or your choice of temperature over a Citrus Buerre Blanc, with potato puff pastry and seasonal vegetables. It looked too pretty to eat.
After dinner we walked on the beach and enjoyed the gorgeous night sky.
On Saturday, we packed our cooler and snacks, threw on our bathing suits and spent the whole day at the beach.
Our trip was so much fun and very much needed! Saturday afternoon, we all reunited with our families. It was the perfect little weekend getaway!
