Happy Friday and Happy Father’s Day weekend to all the amazing dads out there. Sharing the perfect sandal for summer, a yummy chicken marinade, some new finds and more…
ONE. This is my ULTIMATE favorite brand of sandals for the summer and really for anytime. I wear mine ALL THE TIME! Seriously! They’re jelly sandals which make them perfect for Florida’s rainy weather, the beach or the pool. Not to mention they’re super comfy. When I was pregnant these were the only sandals that would fit my feet. I wore them all the time.
You can shop these styles below.
TWO. Plants have become a new thing for me. I’m slowly working on my green thumb. The biggest thing I’ve learned is DON’T OVER WATER. Even if the little tag says water every week, don’t. Just don’t unless it REALLY needs it. I always follow the tag and well I end up with dead plants. Lately, I’ve been watering every other week and things are finally growing! Anyhow, IKEA just got these Ficus potted plants in and I’m so excited! I picked one up yesterday. I’ve been wanting one so bad. I also purchased this basket to put it in.
THREE. If you like tzatziki sauce then you must try this dip. It’s so good! I found it at Publix this week and I’m addicted! It’s great on chicken, veggies, pita bread and pretty much whatever you want to put it on.
FOUR. I was recently introduced to the singer Noah Kahan and his music has been on repeat for the whole week. His music is kind of like a folk-infused pop. It’s really good.
FIVE. I’ve posted about this Cracker Barrel Chicken Marinade Copycat Recipe before but I wanted to share it again and what I did with it this week. This marinade is so good and perfect for summer. This week we had chicken kabobs and I marinated the chicken and the veggies in this recipe and it was all so good and super easy! I just doubled the recipe to make sure I had enough.
Cracker Barrel Chicken Marinade Recipe
- 1/2 cup Italian dressing
- 2 tsp honey
- 1 tsp lime juice
SIX. I want to take a minute and talk about this amazing man right here. One of the things I love most about him is how he father’s our children. He is SO good at discipling and talking to Ava. The way he goes about doing it really connects with Ava. He gets down to her level, looks her in the eye and just talks with her about the choice she made and what she needs to do to do better. It’s very calm and collected and he’s very patient. It’s funny because he will definitely tell you some things he has zero patiences for, but in these moments the patience is there. It amazes me every time and I love watching him do his thing as my love for him grows bigger and deeper. His dad would be so proud.
and that’s a wrap! Happy Friday everyone!
