Friday Favorites | 07-06-18

Happy Friday! Today, we’re headed down to Marco Island but I wanted to drop in this little space and share some of my favorites this week.

ONE. Lately, Ava has been in love with dinosaurs and dresses that twirl. It’s the cutest thing! I found these super cute dresses on Amazon the other day and wanted to share.

TWO. I recently discovered a “strawberry trick” to help strawberries and really any fruit or vegetable last longer in your fridge. This week Aldi had strawberries on sale for $0.99 so I bought a bunch of them. I tried this trick and it WORKED! It’s pretty much a vinegar wash/soak. I put my strawberries in a large bowl and covered them with water and added one cup of white vinegar. I think it ended up being about 5 parts water to 1 part vinegar. You can also use your sink. I let them soak for about 5 to 10 minutes and then let them dry on some paper towels. You don’t want to over soak them.

These strawberries were very ripe when I bought them and very close to spoiling. Usually when they’re like that they last a day or two, but since I did the vinegar wash they have been going strong for several days! Amazing! How am I just now learning about this? Do you do this with your fresh produce?preserving-strawberries

THREE. Last week, I met a friend of mine for lunch at Armature Works in Tampa. If you’re looking for a fun new place to eat in Tampa you must try Armature Works. It’s such a cool place and perfect for babies. They have a variety of different restaurants to choose from and then different tables, comfy chairs and couches to sit at. I had the most delicious tacos and the best horchata latte ever! It’s seriously my new favorite coffee drink. If you happen to go there you MUST get you one or two or three. Haha…I may have had two that day and definitely could’ve had a third.

armature-worksFOUR. How awesome is this shirt? Such a great reminder. It comes in several different colors. Definitely adding this to my Amazon wish list. womens-graphic-tee

FIVE. In September Joey and I are headed to New York for a weekend getaway WITHOUT the kiddos. We went last summer and had such a good time. I can’t wait to go back! new-york-weekend-getaway-trip

OK, now tell me what you recommend we do in New York during our stay. Tell me all your favorite things to see and places to eat in the city! I’m definitely craving pizza, Mexican food and some sweet treats!

Happy Friday Friends!

Ah, I love the dinosaur dresses! Those are the cutest!!! We are foster parents and I know the dress would look absolutely darling on a little one. I may just have to buy a few to keep on hand. Thanks for the awesome suggestions! 🙂

I’ve tried the vinegar/water solution for my berries before and I think it does help extend the life of the berries for a handful of days. Plus it gets rid of any dirt and other yuck on them.

Oooh I need to try that trick with the strawberries! I love them this time of year, and it breaks my heart when they spoil too quickly. Also that trip to NYC sounds AMAZING!! I’m so jealous!
