Now that Halloween is over and Thanksgiving break is only a week away, my mind is on all things Christmas and I’m not even sorry about it!
In the past few weeks I’ve witnessed a lot of death and sadness and I’m learning that we aren’t promised tomorrow. So my advice to you today is to live every day like it’s your last. Don’t worry about what people think. Stop apologizing for doing what you want, and if you want to put Christmas decorations up early, or play Christmas music every day of the year, or even celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior all year long, than BY GOLLY DO IT! Stop worrying about what other’s think and enjoy life!
Now onto this week’s favorites!
ONE. Pickle Ornament – About a month ago Ava and I were shopping in Hobby Lobby and I let her pick out one ornament. She picked a pickle! So this year we will be starting the pickle tradition. I think instead of an extra gift we might just do a little treat.
TWO. Nesting with Grace shared this super easy sugar cookie recipe and FREE PRINTABLE over on her blog this week. I haven’t tried the recipe yet, but I plan to soon. I love that the cookie dough doesn’t have to be chilled. You can find the FREE PRINTABLE here. This would be super cute framed and used as kitchen decor this Christmas.
THREE. This week Joey and I started Weight Watchers. Before I had Zoey I promised myself that I wouldn’t stress or worry about my postpartum body until I was ready and now at 6 months postpartum I’m ready. I’m ready to feel better. I am 4 lbs less than I was at the end of my pregnancy. So basically I’m about 30 pounds heavier than I was before I got pregnant with Zoey. I plan to share my journey here on the blog along with some meal plans we create and love.
FOUR. Christina over at Carolina Charm shared the book, “The Giving Sack” this week on her Instagram and I think it’s such a great way to get kids excited about giving back this Christmas.
FIVE. Last but not least! Each Friday I hope to share a gift idea. This week I wanted to share one of Joey’s favorite gifts that he uses literally every day and has asked for a new one this year for Christmas! It’s this travel cutlery. He uses his for lunch everyday instead of taking our good flatware or using plastic.
Happy Friday Friends!
