ONE. Meal Planning. I’ve been working on being more intentional with meal planning. Mostly to save money and to cook less. This was our meal plan for this week. We try to stay within $120 ish a week for groceries. That includes my husband and I and our two daughters (4 year old and a toddler).
So far I’ve enjoyed meal planning. On Sunday I cooked a bunch of chicken in the crockpot topped with a Frontera Fajita skillet package, frozen corn, black beans, and a little chicken broth. Then I shredded it for tacos that night and used the leftovers in my salads for the week, and for the chicken tostadas on Monday for dinner.
TWO. Grocery Shopping Made Easy. We started using Walmart Grocery Pick up again and I love it. I have our weekly favorites saved like plain yogurt for the girls, applesauce, eggs, etc. then I add anything extra we need after I meal plan. I like that on the app I can see what my total is as I’m shopping. I knocked $40 off our bill one week by being more intentional with our meals.

I also enjoy shopping at Aldi (especially for their specialty cheeses) but Walmart Pick up is just more convenient for us right now.
THREE. Wedding Fun. Last weekend my husband and I went to one of the most beautiful weddings! We had such a great time celebrating such a beautiful couple! Their love for each other is so refreshing.
FOUR. Stepping Out of My Comfort Zone. Today I bought tickets for the EchoConference hosted by our church. It’s a women’s conference happening February 14th and 15th.
I’m super excited yet nervous at the same time. Mostly, nervous to be away from my family for a majority of the weekend. Does that sound crazy? I’m definitely a very extroverted person, but when it comes to taking time away from being with my family I get separation anxiety. I guess part of me wants to just stay home. I usually end up canceling but I already bought my ticket and no turning back now!
Plus I think it’s healthy for me to take time for things like this.
FIVE. One of my favorite places to find healthy recipes is from Skinny Taste. She also has Weight Watcher points listed for all of her recipes AND she does a weekly meal plan for FREE!
SIX. LEAP! One of Ava’s favorite movies is the movie LEAP! On Netflix. It’s such a cute movie. If your littles are into ballet and dancing then they will love it. Warning: there is a part towards the end where the evil lady goes crazy. We turn that part off or fast forward for Ava. Our daughter is 4 and some parts like she’s too young for.
SEVEN. Hillcrest Coffee. I’m still going strong on not stopping for coffee at Starbucks since the beginning of January. I was averaging $20 a week on coffee! So technically I’ve saved $60. Anyhow, my husband surprised me today with coffee beans from Hillcrest Coffee, one of my favorite small coffee shops in Lakeland.
