Helping Students to Read MORE! Mrs. Thompson’s Classroom Amazon Wishlist Project

This year I want to provide my students the opportunity to pick up engaging and high interest books. With your help we could make this happen!

Not everyone has a love for reading and I completely get that. In fact, I didn’t really enjoy reading growing up. It wasn’t until I became an adult that I found what books really interest me.

My hope is to get amazing books in the hands of children.

My hope is for those students to find an interesting book and decide to pick it up and read a few pages.

My hope is that maybe these books help students discover what they want to be when they grow up, or maybe some decide to study abroad, or travel the world. Maybe these books help a student escape the troubles they’re currently facing, maybe they give some the hope they need. The discoveries are endless.

My hope is that these books help students learn about the world around them, allow them to go on adventures, inspire them, and encourage them to dream!

In my classroom there will be a small coffee table, and small stacks of “coffee table” books displayed around the room in a variety of different spaces. These books will be high interest books to get students to WANT to open them and READ what’s inside.

I will change the books throughout the year to give them exposure to a large variety of topics.

I’m not good at asking for help or donations, but this is something that I am truly passionate about and want to make happen for my students.

If you would like to help out with this classroom project you can donate a book from my Amazon Wish List. I’ve created an Amazon Wishlist with a variety of different coffee table books that are appropriate for 6th graders.

Your donation will be greatly appreciated and will help change lives!

As always, thank you for all your love and support!
