What a weekend! New York City is quite the busy place and a culture shock for this southern gal for sure!
I have never seen so many people crossing the street at the same time nor have I walked so many miles in one weekend. I learned that comfy shoes are a must in New York City and carrying your fashionable shoes in your purse until you reach your destination is a good idea.
This was my first time staying in the city and we had such a great time! We arrived Friday morning and took a train and then hoped on the Subway to get to our hotel in Time Square. We checked our bags at the hotel until it was time to check in and then headed out to explore the city.
We ordered a few slices of New York pizza and had a little picnic in Central Park.
Then we went to the Frick House. So cool!
Next, we stopped in the St. Patrick’s Cathedral.
Then we headed back to Time Square to check into our hotel and get ready for dinner.

We had dinner at a delicious Hawaiian restaurant. The food was so good!
After dinner, we explored the city some more and went to the 911 memorial.
The next morning, we went to Little Italy and China Town. Oh my goodness! It’s true what they say about China town. There was someone on every corner and even walking behind me saying, “Purse, purse. You want purse? Michael Kors, Coach, Loui. Purse. Purse. I have purse for you.” It was nuts!

After our morning adventures we went back to our hotel to get ready for the Broadway show. We decided to see the Lion King and it was AMAZING!

For our last night in New York we treated ourselves to a fancy dinner at the Royal 35 Steakhouse
where I had the BEST STEAK I’VE EVER EATEN. Joey and I both ordered their ribeye. It was the most tender and juicy steak I’ve ever had.
Sunday morning, we woke up early and headed home to get our baby girl!
So this was our first time leaving the state of Florida without Ava. Of course I missed her and our first night there I actually had a little panic attack (thanks anxiety), but my mom made things much easier by sending me pictures and videos of their daily adventures. There’s no way I would have been able to do this trip without today’s technology. Here’s a little clip of what Ava’s weekend getaway looked like.
